Means Test in chapter 7 bankruptcy – State-Wise Median State Income by Family Size

The new laws have now made it mandatory for everybody who is considering filing for chapter 7 bankruptcy to pass a means test. Your petition will be accepted only if your net monthly income (after deducting the necessary expenses) is less than the median income in your state, depending upon your family size. The median income varies from one state to another. The state-wise data that is currently applicable is as follows. It is into effect since November 1, 2009.
